Made for Your Space: Custom Giclée Fine-Art Prints from Walt & Pete®

At Walt & Pete®, we believe meaningful art should feel as though it was chosen specifically for the space it inhabits. Custom giclée printing is now available by request for select works from our historical photography and art collections. From intimate tabletop pieces to dramatic statement prints, each order can be tailored by size, paper, border treatment, mounting, matting, and framing. Archival pigment inks and professional fine-art papers preserve tonal depth, fine detail, and the visual character of the original artwork.

The paper is an essential part of the finished work, influencing its texture, brightness, contrast, and overall presence. For Walt & Pete’s restored black-and-white photography, we especially recommend Hahnemühle German Etching for its substantial weight, distinctive texture, matte surface, and excellent monochrome reproduction. Smoother papers emphasize photographic detail, while textured cotton and watercolor-style papers create a more tactile, traditional fine-art presentation.

Paper Types / Media

  • Hahnemühle German Etching: Heavyweight, textured matte paper with an authentic fine-art character; especially beautiful for archival black-and-white photography.
  • Hahnemühle Photo Rag: Smooth 100% cotton paper offering excellent detail, tonal depth, and versatility.
  • Hahnemühle Bamboo: Warm, softly textured matte paper made primarily from bamboo fibers; particularly complementary to monochrome and warm-toned artwork.
  • Hahnemühle Hemp: Lightly textured, bright natural-white paper with strong contrast and deep-black reproduction.
  • Hahnemühle William Turner: Substantial cotton-rag paper with a slightly coarse texture and traditional artist-paper appearance.
  • Hahnemühle Torchon: Parchment-like textured paper suited to artwork that benefits from added surface character.
  • Archival Matte: Smooth, neutral-white, acid-free paper providing crisp detail and an accessible fine-art presentation.
  • Watercolor Bright White: Heavy cotton-rag paper with a cold-press texture, bright whites, and strong visual depth.
  • Velvet Fine-Art Paper: Soft, slightly textured matte paper with a traditional mould-made feel.
  • Satin Luster Paper: A refined option between matte and gloss, reminiscent of a traditional photographic darkroom print.
  • Metallic Paper: A luminous specialty surface for images requiring greater contrast, brilliance, and visual impact.

Your print may be produced borderless for a clean, contemporary appearance or finished with additional paper around the image for matting and framing. Borderless printing allows the artwork to extend fully to the edges, while a white border creates visual breathing room and provides flexibility for future presentation. Deckled treatments offer a more handcrafted appearance and work particularly well when floated inside a frame or shadow box.

Style Options

  • Borderless: Artwork extends completely to the trimmed edges of the print.
  • ½-Inch Added Border: A restrained white surround suitable for handling or framing.
  • 1-Inch Added Border: A classic gallery-style presentation with additional visual space.
  • 2-Inch Added Border: A generous border suited to larger artwork or float-style framing.
  • Borderless with Deckled Edge: Edge-to-edge artwork accompanied by an artisanal torn-paper treatment.
  • Bordered with Deckled Edge: Printed artwork surrounded by a hand-finished torn border.
  • Thin Archival Artboard Mount: A firm, lightweight presentation designed for framing.
  • Double-Thick Archival Artboard Mount: Added stability and a more substantial finished feel.
  • Dibond® Mount: A rigid aluminum-composite backing with a clean contemporary appearance.
  • Gatorboard Mount: A lightweight, rigid alternative to standard foam board.

Finishing options allow your custom print to arrive loose, protected, matted, or ready to display. An unframed print offers maximum flexibility for collectors who prefer to select their own frame, while acid-free matting creates a polished presentation and helps separate the artwork from glazing. Coordinated frame-and-mat packages provide a convenient finished option for gifts, offices, hospitality spaces, and homes.

Add-On Options
