The Paire 042 Wherever You Are Keepsake Box reproduces a restored, colorized vintage double portrait on a glossy ceramic tile lid. Two uniformed men lean together within a tightly cropped frame, their heads touching and their faces turned toward the camera. Their closeness gives the image a personal presence that feels especially fitting for a box intended to hold treasured things.

The supplied photograph record estimates the portrait to circa 1940–1950. The man at the left wears a white sailor cap, a pale top, and a dark neckerchief; the man at the right wears a light garrison-style cap, a collared shirt, and a tie. Their contrasting clothing creates a distinct rhythm of pale fabric and darker details beneath their faces. Palm-frond shapes are visible in the upper background, though they do not establish a location. The close composition keeps attention on expression, proximity, and the individuality of each man.

Presented within Walt & Pete®’s Keepsake Boxes collection, the photograph offers a way to bring images of historical male companionship into contemporary queer homes. For LGBTQ+ customers, such portraits can hold personal resonance as reminders of closeness, visibility, and the value of shared memories. The men’s names and relationship remain undocumented. Wherever You Are is an evocative modern design title, inviting the owner to connect the image with someone important in their own life.

Varnished rubberwood construction and a soft felt-lined interior provide storage for jewelry and small mementos. Display the box on a dresser, bedside table, or shelf, where the glossy ceramic image tile can be appreciated each day. Dual hinges hold the lid at 90 degrees when open, while a slip-resistant felt base helps prevent sliding. Available in three color options, it makes a sentimental anniversary, birthday, or chosen-family gift—a place for the little things that keep someone close.

Why You’ll Love It

A close vintage double portrait with contrasting uniforms and caps.

Sentimental historical imagery for contemporary LGBTQ+ homes.

Soft felt-lined storage for jewelry and small personal keepsakes.

Varnished rubberwood construction with a glossy ceramic image tile.

Thoughtful gifting for a partner, friend, or chosen-family member.

Product Features

High-quality varnished rubberwood construction.

Glossy finish available in three color options.

Slip-resistant felt base helps prevent sliding.

Dual hinges hold the lid securely at a 90-degree angle.

Soft felt-lined interior.

Glossy sublimation ceramic tile lid featuring the reproduced photograph.

Ceramic lid tile: 6 × 6 inches.

Photograph & Archival Note

Title: Close-Up Double Portrait of Two Uniformed Men in Photobooth
Estimated date: Circa 1940–1950, according to the supplied record
Photographer / camera: Unknown; automated photobooth, according to the supplied record
Location: Not documented

Walt & Pete® presents this historical portrait within a broader context of LGBTQ+ history, memory, and visual culture.
