black-athletes-weightlifting-playing-cards
Walt & Pete® Athlétisme — Black Athletes Weightlifting

Iron weights, tall gym windows, and the quiet concentration before a lift: Athlétisme Black Athletes brings the atmosphere of vintage sporting life to the card table. Created by Walt & Pete®, this weightlifting playing-card deck places Black men and women at the heart of its illustrated world. Strength appears in a steady stance, a held barbell, and the confidence of an athlete at rest. It is a deck for those drawn to sporting art, thoughtful representation, and the character of an earlier training hall.

Historically inspired original illustrations pair athletic figures with cream backgrounds, fine gold accents, and deep blue-green borders. The Aces introduce The Champion; the Jacks, The Contender; the Queens, The Medalist; and the Kings, The Victor. Women athletes take their place among the court characters, while varied lifting poses give the suits their own personalities. Traditional Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, and Clubs remain easy to recognize, and the number cards use clear pip arrangements. Two individually illustrated Jokers add further scenes of strength and training to the collection.

The deck contains 55 cards: 52 standard playing cards, two distinct Jokers, and one Walt & Pete® collector card. A shared illustrated back presents a Black weightlifter within an ornate composition of leaves, geometric decoration, and weight motifs. The coordinating red tuck box carries the edition’s illustrated front and a separate branded back with the Walt & Pete® stag. Together, the cards and packaging give the sporting theme a consistent visual presence, from the box on a shelf to the cards spread across a table.

Choose it for a weightlifter, a Black sports enthusiast, or someone who enjoys seeing Black athletes represented in the objects they collect and share. Bring it to a familiar card game, give it as a considered gift, or keep it alongside a collection of sporting art. Explore Athlétisme Black Athletes and make room for its illustrated sporting world at your table.Walt & Pete® — Forgotten Moments, Forever Remembered.

Why you’ll love it

Black men and women featured in original athletic illustrations.

Four named court characters across the traditional suits.

Clear pip arrangements on the number cards.

Two distinct illustrated Jokers and one collector card.

Coordinating red tuck box and ornate shared card back.

Product details

Edition: Athlétisme Black Athletes — Weightlifting

Brand and design: Walt & Pete®

Contents: 55 cards — 52 standard playing cards, two Jokers, one collector card

Suits: Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs

Artwork: Historically inspired original illustrations

Featured figures: Black male and female athletes

Court titles: Ace — The Champion; Jack — The Contender; Queen — The Medalist; King — The Victor

Card back: Shared illustrated weightlifting design

Packaging: Coordinating red tuck box with illustrated front and branded back

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0247/4563/9988/files/12-Athletisme-Black-Athletes-Weightlifting-Assembled-Box-Hero-2000x2000-300dpi.png?v=1791045371
