The Meaning of the Sidra Wreath

The sidra tree, Ziziphus spina-christi, grows naturally in Qatar. Qatar Foundation describes it as a symbol of the country’s heritage, associated with comfort and nourishment in the desert environment.

Within this artwork, green leaves represent shelter and the space relationships provide for growth. Thorned branches suggest protection and personal boundaries, while blossoms and fruit symbolize renewal and shared possibility.

Two branches cross at the base and sweep upward into an open ceremonial crown. Here, the laurel form expresses honor and recognition. The ivory ribbon joins the branches as a symbol of mutual support.

The Meaning of “فخر”

فخر, transliterated as fakhr, means pride in Arabic. Its meaning can vary with context.

Within this wreath, فخر expresses positive pride in identity, heritage, and community. It affirms self-respect and the right to recognize your own worth.

Deep charcoal Arabic lettering appears once on the ivory ribbon, preserving connected letterforms and right-to-left reading direction.

The Pride Colors

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet appear across the illustrated fruit. Natural green foliage, pale blossoms, and warm brown branches anchor the palette.
